Periodically the Child and Youth Advocate’s office makes some of its reports public, when it is seen as necessary to inform the public about the needs and rights of children and youth. A report may be a product of systemic advocacy or investigation. These are issues that have come to the advocate’s attention multiple times and require an in-depth review. Less frequently, government may request a report from the Child and Youth Advocate’s Office onparticular issues, as it did in regard to the issues that led to the Hand in Hand report. Additionally, general reports may also be produced as a resource for stakeholders and to inform the public.
