How School Seclusion Rooms Became Accepted Practice Outside The Law

Address From the Advocate on National Child Day

November 20, 2023

Learning to read by the end of Grade 3 is one of the most important things we owe every child. That fundamental gift — literacy — is a key predictor of a child’s future success and impacts their ability to access other rights from health to autonomy.

For National Child Day, New Brunswick’s Child & Youth Advocate is reviewing where our province stands in this important goal and asks what we can do to make the year ahead a better one for children.
